The Indian families have sought legal recourse, approaching the Delhi High Court to secure consular access and ensure the safe return of their loved ones. The Indian embassy has indicated that access to the six Indian seafarers on board the vessel will be facilitated once the necessary clearances are received from the Iranian Navy/Prosecutor's office. However, the political climate in Iran remains tense, with widespread protests and a significant build-up of US military forces in the region, raising concerns about the crew's safety and the potential for further escalation. The crew's situation is further complicated by the company's involvement in US sanctions, with the Treasury Department alleging that Prime Tankers operates as part of Iran's shadow fleet to transport oil. The company's owner, Jugwinder Brar, denies the allegations and claims that the vessel was carrying valid documents for Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO). Despite the challenges, the families and company officials remain hopeful for a resolution, with the priority being the safe return of all crew members to India.
