The line also scored the first goal of the game with 15 seconds remaining before the buzzer, with Celebrini deftly deflecting a Cale Makar shot. McDavid's performance earned him a game-high 3 points, all assists, in Canada's 5-0 victory over Czechia. While some may question the pairing of McDavid and Wilson, head coach Jon Cooper believes that the power forward will give the playmaking centerman more time and space to operate. Cooper also joked that Wilson could be a 'bodyguard' in case a fight breaks out, although fighting is not allowed in Olympic play.
